About Me

Thank you for reading my blog and stopping to learn a little about me.

My name is Lindsay. I am a mom and wife who is a yoga teacher, meal planning guru, and a safer skincare advocate.  My husband, Ryan, is a finance enthusiast with mad budgeting and financial planning skills.  He is also a dedicated runner that has run over 10 marathons, competed in several ultra races (including 3 50 miles races and 1 100 mile race) and has completed 2 half iron mans.  Together we support each other through life’s adventures and challenge each other along the way while we raise our two girls to be good people in this world.

We haven’t always been like this.

In 2008, we weighed 150 lbs more between the two of us.  I had a gym membership but I could count on one hand how many times I actually went to the gym.  My idea of a healthy meal was plain chicken breast with steamed broccoli (not that I ever really ate that).  Ryan had empty pizza boxes and diet mountain dew boxes stacked up to his kitchen counter.  My breakfast consisted of a large full fat latte and a slice of frosting covered lemon bread from the coffee shop.  I had a lot of credit card debt and between the two of us, we had LOTS of student loans to pay off.  Overall, we were happy but not healthy.

Our healthy living journey has been a lot of work and is definitely an evolution.

We’ve learned a lot over the last ten years and are still learning because nobody is perfect.  Both of us still struggle with things (Ryan still drinks diet dew and I am still working on reaching my pre-baby weight).   We have just realized that life is much better and we can be even happier when we are living a healthy family life.
