My Yoga Journey

My journey of yoga started over 7 years ago now.  I actually got started practicing yoga during my first pregnancy.  I was newly pregnant and quite nauseous but wanted to try yoga so I took gentle yoga, yoga nidra, and yin yoga because I didn’t think that you could practice a flow class while pregnant.  Since I was getting more pregnant, I decided to try a studio that specializes in prenatal yoga.  I attended a Saturday morning class and, not to sound over dramatic here, but it was life changing.  I never knew that it was OK to move your body in so many ways while pregnant and that birth could be so empowering.  I left feeling strong, empowered and like I could conquer the world.

I fell in love with yoga so much that I wanted to take yoga teacher training to share the love of yoga with others.

I had thought about it for a few years now but never thought it was the right time to take teacher training. The one thing I’ve learned is that it is never going to be the “right” time, you just have to take the plunge.  So thankfully over a glass of wine at the fire with my husband this summer, we were talking about aspirations in life….he wants to complete an iron man, I wanted to be a yoga teacher.  We decided now is as good of a time as any to learn.  So that evening, I started my application for training.

My training took 9 months of learning about asanas, prana, meditation and so much more and I am now a registered yoga teacher. I am now prepared and thrilled to share the joy of yoga with others.

I started teaching yoga at my local community centers a few years ago now and have expanded my offerings to include vinyasa yoga, hatha yoga, adult aqua yoga and kid aqua yoga.  I love sharing my love of yoga with my community and being able to build classes that meet my students needs because everyone’s yoga is unique because we are all wonderful unique individuals.

Come flow with me!

Here are my classes for this fall 2021 (both classes we will try to be outside for as long as weather allows!):

Namaste.
