It may not feel like it in Minnesota, since our meteorologists are talking snow storm tomorrow, but sun season is upon us. This means sunscreen time! For those of you that live in warm, sunny climates all year round, this isn’t new news (and P.S. I envy you). But if you are like me, and like to torture yourself through a winter so you can really appreciate those summer days, then listen up!
PS: if you aren’t going to read any further, just know that Beautycounter has a 15% off sale* that is going on now (April 9, 2019) for a limited time so it is a good time to stock up! Shop at Beautycounter here if you are interested!
Sunscreen season is here!
I’ve always been an advocate for wearing sunscreen and now that I’ve become more educated on safer products through my work with Beautycounter, I realize that using SAFE sunscreens is very important!
Why you ask? Well traditional sunscreens tend to include oxybenzone and octinoxate, which is not great for your skin, lakes or oceans. To the point where some states (i.e. Hawaii) have banned sunscreens that include those ingredients because those chemicals are harming coral reefs. Also, Beautycounter suncreens include non-nano zinc, which doesn’t absorb into the body like nano particles can.
Here is a breakdown of more details around sunscreen and things to know:
I never realized how close in effectiveness an SPF 30 vs. SPF 50 are. Higher is technically better but only on a very small scale.
So, if you need to stock up on sunscreens, or any other safer beauty products, now is the time because Beautycounter has 15% off right now (starting April 9, 2019) and it’s for a limited time only!
Here are some of my favorites from Beautycounter at the moment:
