Since this week is one to celebrate love, instead of only focusing on loving others, let’s focus on loving ourselves. Self care is a great way to show some love to yourself. It doesn’t need to be anything big, just little things you can do throughout your day. These can go a long way in your mood and well-being. It can be something as simple as sitting and breathing. Here are a few of my favorite things I do for self care: Journal. Taking time to write down your thoughts each day, morning or night, is a great way to clear your mind. This can help you feel more mindful…

How I am trying to be more present in life
You may have noticed that I haven’t posted for a few weeks. And before that, I wasn’t posting as much as I had when I started this blog months ago. I was starting to realize that my life was becoming a bit consumed by the blog since I was posting three times a week. Since I have a full time job, a side gig of safer skincare consultant, and was just finishing up my yoga teacher training program, I decided to give myself a break. Here comes the sun
It may not feel like it in Minnesota, since our meteorologists are talking snow storm tomorrow, but sun season is upon us. This means sunscreen time! For those of you that live in warm, sunny climates all year round, this isn’t new news (and P.S. I envy you). Spring clean your skincare routine
It may not feel like it in MN (where I live), but spring is only a few weeks away! As spring starts to approach, many of us start to spring clean our homes. Today I wanted to talk about spring cleaning our skincare products (for men and women). With all of the knowledge these days about potentially harmful chemicals that could be in skincare products, I wanted to share how to clean them up with safer skincare products! *stepping on my soapbox* As I’ve stated before on the blog, I am a safer skincare advocate (i.e. I am a consultant for Beautycounter). Being part of Beautycounter allows me to be…

Healthy living is more than food and exercise for us
As a family, we like to ensure that we are eating healthy and exercising consistently but we also have been shifting to safer products for things like cleaners, soaps, lotions, etc. After having babies, I switched to safer laundry detergent, dishwasher soap, and cleaning supplies because I read that babies have sensitive skin so it was best to have natural products that were scent free. I always thought that babies needed scent free because they were sensitive to smells but I came to realize it was more likely because “fragrance” was an ingredient that is unregulated by the beauty industry and companies don’t have to disclose what chemicals are in…
