New Year, New Blog

Hi, my name is Lindsay. I am a wife and mom of two girls (4 yrs and 1.5 yrs). I have a full time job as a marketing analytics consultant and a side gig as a safer skincare consultant. I am a practicing yogi who is currently training to be a yoga teacher. I love to go for morning walks with my dog, meal plan and learn about all things wellness. My husband Ryan is financial planning guru, marathon runner, and works in finance. Together, we are working on building our version of a healthy family life.

Now I realize the web is already flooded with blogs from people so why would I put another one out there? Because I feel that I have something to contribute. Since I work in analytics, here are some interesting facts that I found:

You may have seen those stats before or some may be new to you and alarming. My fun fact is that I have been able to contradict statistics:

  • My husband and I have lost about 150 lbs between the two of us and have been able to keep if off for over 5 years (even post two babies)
  • We eat out only once per week
  • We have paid off $100,000 in debt over the past 3 years
  • We both exercise regularly through yoga and walking for me and running, biking and swimming for my husband
  • I have been switching to safer household and skincare products throughout the last several years
  • I am working on building a daily yoga and meditation practice to combat stress in my life while building the mind and body connection and increasing my fitness

These changes didn’t happen overnight.  It was through years of trial and error and lessons learned. To be honest, we are still learning how to maintain a healthy family life because there is always something new or evolving in life so our habits need to evolve as well.

Your version of a healthy life may be different than mine but I hope that my story and words can help drive you to build your version of a healthy family life. I know I am not going to change the world, but if someone can take any of my words to add value to their life, that is a win for me. So welcome to my blog! I hope you come back to hear more as I share not only stories on how I got to this point, but how I work to maintain my healthy family life through all of life’s shenanigans!
