My version of a “lately” post

If you follow other blogs, you have probably read posts that have the subject of “lately” which basically lists what’s been going on in the blogger’s life lately and/or what products or things they are liking “lately.” Well this post is my version of “lately.” Here it goes….

Lately, it has been snowing so much that I forgot what it’s like not to take a ridiculous amount of time commuting and not worry that you may have to pay the late fee at daycare because they are going to close.

Lately, I forgot that it was pajama day at my older daughter’s school so I let her wear pjs the next day because who really cares what kids where to preschool as long as it is weather appropriate?

Lately, my 18 month old has been obsessed with Cliff Kids bars. It is all she wants to eat. She can barely talk but knows how to tell us she wants a bar.

10,000 feet up in Delta Comfort

Lately, I’ve been thoroughly enjoying my silver medallion status with Delta because I’ve been upgraded to Delta Comfort on all of my flights so far this year. Who knew that flying so much for work last year would bring me perks?!

Lately, it is so dry everywhere that there is static galore and you get shocks if you touch things but my skin is doing much better this year since I am using Beautycounter products….just saying 😉

Lately, I’ve been getting in a groove again with my meditation practice in the morning. Seriously, take a few minutes to just sit and breathe. If your mind wanders, focus on a white light at your third eye center or that you are floating in a boat that is tied to a dock. Just do it and you can thank me later 🙂 .

Lately, I’ve been running out of vegetarian recipes to keep up my “eat more vegetarian” new year’s resolution. Although this week I did find a winner in this recipe: vegan mushroom bourguignon. It was quick too since it is an insta-pot recipe.

Lately, I’ve been enjoying my Google home for playing music easily in the house and telling Google to put peanut butter and Cheerios on our shopping list when we run out.

Lately, Ryan and I have been watching old Shark Tank episodes on Hulu. We are doing a 30 day free trial and so far I’m a fan. My oldest enjoys it too because it has Doc McStuffins, her new favorite show (which I am so thankful for because if I watched one more episode of My Little Pony, I think I would lose my cutie mark, I mean my mind…..see what I did there?).

Lately, we’ve been trying to figure out if we want to give our kitchen a face lift, i.e. reface cabinets and get new counter tops. Through this process I’ve realized that I have no idea what I want and need a designer to tell me what I want. Can you hire someone to read your mind? Is that what designers do? I asked the last guy who came out if they have designers with their company, and he said that’s what he is….Ryan said I probably hurt his feelings, oops!

Lately, between my two girls, someone is always waking us up in the middle of the night or getting us up far before we would like. PS: I hate the 18 month sleep regression, teething, and monsters.

Lately, I’ve been eating savory oatmeal for breakfast. I’ve been using this recipe from another blog. I’ve always been skeptic but took the plunge and the recipe doesn’t disappoint.

There actually is oatmeal under the tomatoes, avocado, egg, green onions and cheese 🙂

Lately, we haven’t been going out to eat, like ever. Last weekend we actually tried to eat out as a family and every restaurant had a ridiculous wait time so we ended up at PotBelly Sandwiches. In case you were wondering…they did not have a wait.

Lately, I’ve been enjoying seeing my 18 month old absorb and learn so many new things in life….singing songs, using good manners by saying things like “more please” and mirroring her older sister through play (it’s pretty fun to watch).

Lately, I’ve been consuming a lot of coffee. See note above about my girls getting up at night.

Lately, I’ve found laundry to be a burden. Oh wait, that’s always. Maybe I should do an “always” post?

What have you been up to lately?
